IEC continually invests in the technical upgrading of its personnel, whether it is relative to Cathodic protection or to business presentations.
Our company regularly gives technical lectures to cathodic protection employees with the aim of continual improvement. Our entire staff is certified with NR-10 for operating with electricity, work item required for those working with cathodic protection.
Much of our time is also dedicated for training on QSMS. This year we have increased our staff substantially in this area in order to improve our internal procedures and services.
Also in regards to cathodic protection, director Eduardo Barreto is part of the Sector Committee of Cathodic Protection for Abraco whose goal is to certify professionals in this sector. Our expectation is that with the endorsement of major customers requiring certification, there will be an improvement in the general level of technical personnel.
In regards to training at representations, the highlights of this year are the visits to the factory Flexpipe (high pressure composite pipelines) in Calgary, the factory Isoplus (insulation) in Austria, training in Deepwater (underwater cathodic protection and general solutions for corrosion) in Houston and Doedijns factories in Holland. The intent of the various visits was to accompany customers to get to know the products or improve their technical learning skills.
In addition to training in existing representations, we continue our exploration of new business visits to the main corrosion congresses and the Oil and Gas sector, with special focus on OTC Houston, Nace, Rio Pipeline, Calgary and IPC Rio Oil and Gas. Annually IEC invests in booths at various trade fairs in Brazil for cathodic protection and dissemination of the products we represent.
