Connected to the markets innovations, the company exposed to its clients Pipesak´s anchorage pipeline system. A buoyancy control system for pipelines in wetlands.
“We had a very positive return in this release due to the convenience of its installation. Pipesak replaces the concrete, does not harm the environment and represents a considerable impact on the reduction of costs in the construction logistics \", says Mauro Barreto, director of IEC.
In addition, IEC advertized the Pead composite tubes reinforced with fiberglass or galvanized steel for aggressive corrosive conditions and high internal pressure of fluid, which were developed by Flexpipe, from the ShawCor group company, specialized in manufacturing composite tubes.
\"These apply for projects of fluid flow in general, like onshore well collecting lines production, water injection lines, pipelines, distribution and transportation of natural gas and transportation of oil derivatives, among others,\" explains Barreto.
In this edition of the Rio Pipeline, the company also participated in the conference by presenting a technical paper on the advantages of polypropylene based coating for pipelines in harsh environments, buried or submerged.
The pipeline market accounts for most of IEC´s revenues, but the company also has synergy with the markets of storage tanks, industrial piping, offshore structures and platforms. \"Our biggest challenge is to monitor the very rapid technological change in an industry whose demand fluctuates a lot. Rio Pipeline has been essential to meet this challenge, \"he said. Barreto says that today the company is operating in gas pipeline Rio-Sao Paulo (Gaspal II) gas pipeline Caraguatatuba-Taubaté (Gastau) Ethanol pipeline Paulínia Ribeirão Preto, Samarco III slurry Pipeline and slurry Pipeline Rio-Minas, Anglo American.
According to the executive, the main solutions provided by IEC for the pipeline industry and oil & gas is the cathodic protection, from design to commissioning, through the supply of all the material and assembly systems; the monitoring and control of internal pipeline corrosion; the provision, installation and operation of equipment with different intrusive and non-intrusive techniques for measuring corrosion rates; besides this, the company also represents the North American CRTS, specialized in internal robotic lining of field joints steel pipes; and in the tank and pipeline inspection area, IEC represents Rosen, leader in the Brazilian Market with Instrumented Pigs. IEC is the distributer of various products in the pipeline industry, including Canus shrinkable sleeve, plastic tubes reinforced with Flexpipe fiberglass and insulation joints Projoint. “We also provide, together with personnel and our own technology, survey of pipeline path , like step by step, DCVG, attenuation of the chain and repositioning, recently we introduced to the Brazilian market the technique of ‘Direct Assessment’ (ECDA and ICDA), a method of pipeline integrity analysis leaning on the techniques and surveys mentioned above”, remembers Barreto.
IEC´s director commented that recently IEC launched the PipePillo, which serves as a support for the pipeline, lifting the tubes beside the ditch to an ideal height for welding, surface preparation and applying the sleeves. He highlighted on the company’s portfolio Flexpipe´s reinforced composite thermoplastic tubes, an economic and competitive solution, reducing pipeline installation cost and proposing shorter deadlines for the conclusion of the lines.
